Miranda Lambert Responds to Fan's "Shoot Tequila, Not Selfies" T-Shirt at Concert

Mama's broken heart can't take this drama.
New videos of Miranda Lambert interacting with a fan at a concert have surfaced one week after she drew controversy for chastising audience members for taking selfies.
"Her shirt says, 'Shoot tequila, not selfies," the country star, who has been performing her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency for the past few weeks, told the crowd in the new clips, which fans shared July 22. "She did it, I didn't!"
Miranda added, "That's bada--." She then accepted from the audience a mini tequila bottle, raised a toast and took a shot onstage before handing it to her guitarist, Ethan Ballinger. The musician posted one of the videos of the interaction with the fan on his Instagram Stories July 23, writing, "Soo this happened last night."
On July 15, Miranda had stopped a Las Vegas show mid-concert to criticize a group of fans who took selfies in front of her.
"These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song," Miranda said from the stage, as captured on TikTok. "It's pissing me off a little bit." The 39-year-old continued, "We're here to hear some country music tonight. I'm singing some country damn music."
Her public call-out sparked criticism from fans online, including the very woman in the crowd that was trying to capture the moment on camera. Adela Calin said she was "appalled" by how Miranda reprimanded her group at the show.
"It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place," Adela, 43, told NBC News. "I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain. But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture."
She said her pals were initially "so excited" about the concert and spent just 30 seconds trying to get their shot. "We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down."
The debacle riled up other Hollywood stars as well, with The View's Sunny Hostin saying on the July 18 episode of the daytime talk show, "[I'm] going to take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets." However, her co-host Whoopi Goldberg became so heated by Sunny's take that she got up and left the round table in the middle of their discussion to prove a point about disruption.
Miranda's viral clip also led fans to resurface other footage of the country star bursting bubbles at her past shows. As seen in an unearthed clip from one of her 2019 performances, Miranda seemingly stabbed a fan's beach ball on stage to deflate it. "I love y'all but we're not at the damn beach," she said, "we're singing country music tonight."
It prompted one user to write, "she's like the grinch of country music."
